This lecture discusses the typological characteristics of the phonetic systems of English, Uzbek, and Russian languages, focusing on vowel phonemes and consonant phonemes. It explores the articulatory differences in the pronunciation of vowels in these languages, such as the stability of articulation, tongue position, lip position, and length. The phonemic inventory of English includes 10 monophthongs, 8 diphthongs, and 2 diphthongoids, totaling 20 phonemes. Uzbek and Russian languages are also compared in terms of vowel phonemes and letters.
