Word formation in linguistics involves the creation of new words and is sometimes compared with semantic change. The lecture discusses the types of word formation in English, Uzbek, and Russian languages, as well as the similarities and differences in word formation ways between these languages. The formation of idiomatic expressions and the importance of wordbuilding in enriching vocabulary are also explored.
