This lecture discusses the typological characteristics of the English, Uzbek, and Russian languages' phonological systems, focusing on word stress, syllables, and their placement in these languages. It highlights the differences and similarities in stress placement and intensity in these three languages. The lecture also explores how word stress is fixed in English but movable in Uzbek, often falling on the final syllable or to the right side towards suffixes.
