Maqsud Maqsumbekoglu Shaykhzoda (Maqsud Shaykhzoda) (1908.25.10 (7.11), Republic of Azerbaijan, Ganja region, Aktash- 1967.19.2, Tashkent) – poet, playwright, literary critic, translator, pedagogue. Honored Artist of Uzbekistan (1964). He graduated from the medical school in Baku (1925). The poet died on February 19, 1967 from an illness. After his death, a six-volume "Works" will be published. During the years of independence, the late Maqsud Shaykhzoda was recognized for his work and services, and in 2001 he was awarded the Order of Merit.
