This study explores how inflation processes can affect the evaluation of investment projects. It discusses the tracking of inflation, measuring changes in the cost of living, the experience of inflation in the U.S. and other countries, the confusion surrounding inflation, limitations of indexing, and anti-inflationary policy. Additionally, it highlights the extreme case of hyperinflation in Zimbabwe, where bills with face values of 100 billion and even 100 trillion Zimbabwean dollars became almost worthless, leading to the abandonment of the national currency in favor of foreign currencies for transactions.
