The state emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan reflects the centuries of experience of the Uzbekistan people. It features the image of the rising sun over a flourishing valley, representing the Syr Darya and Amu Darya rivers. The emblem includes wheat on the right side and branches of cotton with opened cotton bolls on the left side. An eight-pointed star symbolizes the unity of the Republic, while the crescent and star within it are sacred symbols of Islam. The emblem also depicts the mythical bird Semurg.
