The prevalence of hypertension among the world's population ranges from 450 to 900 million individuals, with over 3 million annual deaths from complications related to hypertension. In the Republic of Uzbekistan, hypertension affects more than 30% of the adult population. According to Prof. Kurbanova in 2007, the prevalence of hypertension among working age individuals is 15-44% and among the elderly is 60.7-65.8%.
